Pictured is my first car. Honestly looking back, it’s probably the coolest realistic first car I could have gotten, and as current pricing trends show, it is a true classic. The closest one to it that I could find was in philly, has about 40k more miles, and the smaller 5.0 motor. $8500. I sold mine for like $5k back in 2010. I’d give anything to have it back. Even looking at that pic, I LOVE it. I love that it was in such great shape, and that I had factory sized mud tires to give it a rugged yet not redneck look. It was such a perfect cool car, and I miss it. :-/

Damn a 5th gen without rusty wheel wells. My dad had a black 5th gen with the 351 when I was a kid. I got to drive it for a few months when I was 16. He sold it to my uncle because it cost about 100$ to fill the thing at the time, not sure where it went after that. I too miss it.

Mine cost $112 to fill up (once a week). That and desire to learn stick shift are what made me sell it. The gas factor would be the biggest thing making me sell if I got another.

Ah, yes, quickly appreciating vintage red Ford first cars. I miss mine, too.
(not an actual photo. Mine wasn’t a 5.0 and it had a white top)
I sold the damned thing for $800 after killing the starter when it ran out of oil half a mile from home. So many problems. Such a horrible car, really. But it’s still the best one I’ve ever owned.

No offense but no non V8 mustang will appreciate the way a rust free fully loaded bigger motor final gen bronco would. That’s a truck that will 100% fetch six figures on the auction block one day. A V6 or I4 fox body mustang convertible will prob top out at $8k. You have a chance to buy your first car again someday. I gotta act fast or I’ll have to shell out a minimum of like $10k

It was a green 1997 vw golf gl for me. Only car I’ve owned with more than two doors. It had 29x,xxx miles when I got it and it had the original clutch. I quickly destroyed the clutch (though I really don’t know if it was the clutch itself or something else). It was my first time learning how to drive manual and we had a 80% incline stop and go everyday getting to school, so I’d say it was not entirely my fault. That was true trial by fire. I’m a better driver because of it.
